Dewitt is one of the founding members of NANPA and was honored with NANPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. His column in Outdoor Photographer (Basic Jones) broke new ground is exploring the spiritual nature of photography.

His 20 years as a freelancer for National Geographic cemented his reputation as a photojournalist and nature photographer. Dewitt is also a well known public speaker on creativity and vision.
