Amy Gulick is an acclaimed photographer, writer, author, and speaker. She is the recipient of the Daniel Housberg Wilderness Image Award from the Alaska Conservation Foundation, the Voice of the Wild Award from the Alaska Wilderness League, the Conservation Voices Award from Washington Wild, the Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation, NANPA’s 2008 Mission Award and 2025 Environmental Impact Award, as well as the NANPA Foundation’s Philip Hyde Conservation Grant in 2008.

Amy’s award-winning books include The Salmon Way: An Alaska State of Mind and Salmon in the Trees: Life in Alaska’s Tongass Rain Forest. Her work has been featured in Smithsonian, Audubon, National Wildlife, Sierra, and Outdoor Photographer. She is a founding Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers.

Join Amy Gulick, the 2025 winner of NANPA’s Environmental Impact Award, on a journey of inspiration and learning as she highlights her work in Alaska to conserve wild salmon ecosystems and the ways of life these remarkable fish make possible. Amy’s books, The Salmon Way: An Alaska State of Mind and Salmon in the Trees: Life in Alaska’s Tongass Rain Forest, have been placed in the hands of U.S. Senators and Representatives, Alaska state legislators, and government agency offcials. Her related exhibits and lectures have been seen by nationwide audiences including those of the World Wilderness Congress, Commonwealth Club, Smithsonian National Zoological Park, and the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center.
